Conversion

  • Full conversion from fully-designed InDesign files; meticulous quality assurance (QA); and file validation for top retailers.

  • Full conversion with an edited manuscript, any relevant links, and a designated ISBN. (This option is for self-publishers with a digital-only title.) QA and validation included.

  • Special features include: linked index; linked footnotes/endnotes; complex tables with live text; and embedded licensed OpenType (OTF) and TrueType (TTF) fonts for EPUB and Kindle file.

  • Formats*: EPUB, Kindle, iBooks Author/Pages, fixed-layout, enhanced (audio/video), PDF

Quality Assurance

  • Thorough QA of converted EPUB. This includes: cleaning up the format and design (including simplifying the HTML and CSS); assessing the readability of the content; checking the grammar and spelling; optimizing the visuals at reasonable file sizes; and validating the final EPUB.

  • A separate EPUB for Kindle file is created from the QA’d EPUB. It may receive its own changes based upon Kindle’s publishing guidelines and device limitations or opportunities.

Free Consultation

  • Assess if and how a print title can be translated to an eBook and to which format(s).

  • Estimate the time it will take and the price quote* to do a full conversion and/or QA.

  • Advise on distribution and pricing of eBook files.

    *Estimated quote includes both EPUB and Kindle file, as well as minor updates for a year after providing the final eBook files.

I offer an hourly option or general ranges per project type for individual titles. I am very open to discussing what price best fits your title and budget.

  • fiction/nonfiction with particular formatting (fixed-layout, audio/video, etc.) // EPUB and/or Kindle // $400 – 700

  • sample files that are not included with any full EPUB and Kindle projects // EPUB and/or Kindle // $50 – 100

  • rush fee for projects that are needed within four days after the final files are ready for conversion // $25 – 50 (applies to both hourly and project options)

I also have tiered monthly subscription rates for publishing companies that need a bit of help during their busy seasons. The monthly rate is for my full services and is subject to discussion based upon your needs.
